Coastal Rock Plants explores the variety of plants growing amongst the rocks along the shoreline, where small pockets of colour and foliage emerge from the rugged coastal landscape. I was drawn to the contrast between the delicate planting and the harder textures and forms of the surrounding rocks.
Painted in my signature pointillist style, thousands of individual dots build layers of colour, light and texture across the surface. The detail encourages a closer look at the smaller elements of the landscape that can so easily be overlooked.
